I just heard from the 5th grade chaperones. Their estimated return time is 7pm! The rain held off. They've had a great time!

3-5 families, The cyber safety information that was sent home today is for your information. You may complete the training with your student (encouraged method) and send the opt out form back. Otherwise, they will be required to complete the approx. 60 minutes of lessons at school starting on Friday if you do not return the signed opt out form. Students who opt out will NOT be penalized. I have not reviewed the information in its entirety at this time, so I am unsure of the content. Please feel free to reach out if need further clarification. Tonya Casto

Here's a few more reminders... Departure time is 7:30 am and return time is approximately 7:30 pm. A school message will be sent if there are any updates or delays on the return time, please be prompt picking students up at BES! Food and snacks are provided as part of the fee; you do not need to send anything but may send money for the gift shop; please keep in mind that we have staff and students with allergies and any products with nuts are not allowed to be brought or purchased at the gift shop or McDonalds. There is a student health issue on bus 216, the student's parent has been notified. There's another bus headed that way to finish the run. They're on steel ridge and they will be home soon.

We are looking for a few good men and women to put down landscaping cloth and spread pea gravel on the primary playground. Reach out to Mrs. Casto or Jessica Mink if you have an interest in heading up this project. Obviously, access to small machinery would be great but shovels and a labor of love for the littles could make it happen!

A huge thank you to the those that attended the family night and shopped at the book fair last evening. As a reminder, the last day of the book fair will be tomorrow, Thursday, 4/23. We appreciate the support and are working on a plan for next year to alleviate the high prices and scheduling conflicts for volunteers and families. Feel free to join our PTO and attend meetings with productive suggestions to make BES a more inviting and positive place for all!

Correction it's strawbridge not life touch...my sincerest apologies!

Reminder: tomorrow is spring, class and club picture day. Only students who have prepaid will get spring pictures taken. If you paid online send the teacher a note/message. It seems life touch always misses someone and we don't know who prepays on our side of things. All students will be in their class pictures (unless there's an opt out on file).

Families, Please remember and respect the guidelines to keep you child home until they are fever and vomit/diarrhea free WITHOUT MEDICATION for 24 hours. There's a lot of sickness going around and we had several students come back too soon. Obviously, we want students at school but not at the risk of their health or the health of others. Thanks for your understanding and consideration of others.

Parents, A huge thank you for your patience and cooperation during pick-up today. Unfortunately, I need to change drop off in the morning due to the dumpster being dropped off in the wrong area. K-5 families, I am asking that you utilize the bus lane at drop off. Please turn in at the bus entrance across from Angeleno’s Pizza and pull forward to the drop-off gate. We will have staff members outside supervising. If you arrive before 7 am…DO NOT block the bus lane. Park in the visitor lot and drive around once we start receiving students. Pre-K and Headstart families, if you arrive before 7:30 am, please park in the old BHS lot and after we get K-5 though traffic you may use the “middle” entrance by the BES visitor parking lot to follow your normal traffic pattern. Once again, I ask you to be courteous and patient, safety is my overall concern. I have been told work will be completed by 1 pm tomorrow, so I am optimistic that this will be the last change. If not, we will need to follow today’s pick-up procedure. Again, sorry for the inconvenience and thanks in advance for your flexibility.

Parents, For the remainder of the week, you will need to park in the visitor parking lot and wait until buses leave to pull through the parent pick up lane. It’s going to be tricky to get everyone through the line this way but to avoid the demolition and keep everyone safe, we will just have to make it work! I will have staff outside to help direct traffic, please be patient and courteous to them and one another…remember the kids learn from our example! 😊 Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks in advance for your cooperation!
