First Day for Students
August 17th

Buffalo Elementary Families:

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year.

Open House will be Thursday, August 16th from 4-5:30pm.  We invite you to come meet your teacher and strongly encourage you visit all informational booths.

We are requesting that each family complete the FREE or REDUCED lunch form to better provide for our students.  Unfortunately, due to last year’s lack of participation we lost a large amount of federal funding for this school year. Therefore, it is crucial that each of you complete this confidential form either during open house or by going to schoolcafe.com at your earliest convenience.

Also, be aware of the new policy stating children in grades K-3 must have a designated guardian at the bus stop in the mornings and afternoons to receive the student. Make sure to look closely at the bus schedule as some morning pick up times may have been adjusted.

Additionally, parent drop off time for students is 7-7:20 am. Students arriving after 7:30 will be marked tardy, regardless of reason. Please note instruction will begin at 7:30 am.  As of now, the procedure will remain the same with parents using the entrance at the old Buffalo High School and driving down the lane by the football field.  Dropping off students one car at a time helps ensure adult supervision.  We know mornings can be tough, but student safety is our number one priority.

That being said, the dismissal procedure for parent pick-ups will be enforced this year to provide a safer environment for all.  Students will not be released for parent pick-up until buses are loaded and off the lot.  At which point, parents may pull through to the main entrance and students will be dismissed one vehicle at a time.  While this may seem time consuming, we again ask for your patience as we look out for the students in our care.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

We look forward to seeing you at Open House on Thursday and on Friday, August 17 for the first day of school!
